Price Chopper Still Doubles Manufacturer Coupons With Other Store Logos/Names On Them

A few readers have let me know that their Price Chopper stores have told them this week that Price Chopper now considers manufacturer coupons with other store logos or names on them, for example, a manufacturer coupon that may say "redeemable at Walmart" as competitor coupons and will no longer double them.

I just got off the phone with a high up PC representative at corporate who assured me this is not the case. She said regular manufacturer coupons with a store logo or name on them (redeemable at Walmart, etc.) are still doubled and there has been no change to PC's coupon policy in regards to this. She said if your cashier tells you otherwise ask to speak to a CS supervisor.

I would say if the supervisor or even manager will not double them keep your receipt and call or email customer service and they should reimbursement you. Tell them what store you are having the problem with and ask that they contact that store.

Who know if  their policy will change in the future but as of now manu. coupons with other stores logos/names are still accepted.

Has anyone else had these problems?

Maybe they should put it on the web site so we can print it off to keep with our copies of their coupon policy!!

It would be nice if they clarified it as some stores aren't clear on it, the current policy doesn't say anywhere that they don't double manu coupons w/ other stores logos and hasn't been changed in a year so a shopper could bring that - I know what you mean though

I printed out a copy of this page to take to the store with me in case I have a problem :-D

I had a supervisor tell me they would not accept them at all and would not even scan it. They knew better but would not even take it as a competitors coupon. Same person likes to hassle couponers and knows I won't argue. I have learned to choose someone else's line!

Good idea Regina! :-)

Wow, that's crazy they would not even take it! At least you know who to avoid now :-)

Ogdensburg Price Chopper refused. They took it only at face value :(

I would email or call corporate and have them contact the store since they are not following the coupon policy. Or ask corporate about in an in email and then you could show there response that they should be doubled when you run into problems.

Well the Cortland NY Price Chopper still won't double the "redeemable at Walmart" coupons. They basically looked at me like I was lying! Any suggestions?Even the CS wouldn't help

Yes, I've had lots of trouble the last few weeks, actually. Not just with this issue (they wouldn't let me use one with the DD the last time because it wasn't a manufacturer coupon - even though it said manufacturer coupon right on it) but just using coupons in general. For example, I had the CS scolding me, loudly (for other customers to hear, I guess) for photocopying a coupon (because it was dark) - until I pointed out that the coupon was printed out from the iSave machine and showed him the perforated edge and the sheet from I'd just taken it. He didn't back down at all and kept loudly proclaiming that he'd have to thoroughly check my other coupons to make sure they weren't photocopied (for the record, I've never photocopied a coupon in my life). And then refused to let me "have" a reduced produce coupon (the kind they put on not-so-fresh produce) because I was using a peelie coupon (which was on the package) because 'I can't just expect them to give me stuff.' I argued a little but it was embarrassing so I gave up. I contacted the corporate customer service, but all they did was suggest I contact the manager at the store. Instead, I'm just not shopping there anymore except to get a couple of the good deals. And now whenever that CS sees me, he pulls me out of line to ring me through himself and harass me. For example last week, I got those Magnum bars and nothing else - my total came to $.93 (2 $1w/DD + 2 $1.50 coupons + bag). He scrutinized each coupon for about a minute trying to figure out why I couldn't use them. I don't even use very many coupons in the first place.

I'm a little glad to hear it's not just me having trouble. I wonder if they're getting ready to change their coupon policy. I hope not.

I emailed corporate and received this response on 8/10.

"Thank you for contacting Price Chopper.

We are sorry that you are disappointed with Price Chopper's coupon policy. Price Chopper voluntarily doubles, at its own expense, manufacturer coupons with a face value of up to and including 99 cents, except when prohibited by the manufacturer. When a manufacturer coupon says "redeemable at" and lists a particular retailer, it is a manufacturer supported offer for that retailer only. The manufacturer will only reimburse that particular retailer. Therefore, these coupons fall under the competitor coupon section of our policy and we do not double competitor coupons.

Customer feedback helps us improve our service and our products. Price Chopper values your business and we look forward to serving you again."

Anonymous - Sorry to hear that that has happened to you! That's really awful how that CS has treated you, no one should be treated like that. I wonder if you can file an official complaint against him, he deserves it.
