Giving Back

One of my favorite things about couponing is being able to donate items I get free-cheap. This is why The Saratoga Saver is joining Couponing for Community. Couponing for Community is a grass roots effort by couponers all over America to give back. The goal is to collect 10,000 items (non-perishable or toiletry) during the week of May 8th-14th.

In order to participate all you need to do is gather items to donate and drop them off at your local food shelter or church pantry May 8th-14th. If you keep track of how many items you donate you can add it to the total tally list on  Couponing for Community's facebook page to help us reach our goal!

I will post a reminder about this event as the date gets closer. If you'd like to learn more about Couponing for Community check out the facebook page, here.

Thanks to Cha Ching on a Shoestring for organizing this!

Extreme Fraud?

I'm all for couponing, just not the type of "Extreme Couponing" featured on TLC's Extreme Couponing last night. While it can be fun to watch, I think a lot of the people on it, (though not all) have some major hoarding issues and need to donate some of their 60 boxes of pasta or 40 boxes of cereal! For that reason I wasn't even going to mention the show but then saw this article featured on The Coupon It looks like one of the women featured on the show may have committed major coupon fraud by deliberately using coupons on the wrong items! Not good. Check out the article, it's well written and really interesting.

Did you see the show? What do you think?
